Powatone is a private family owned business and began trading in 1973.
Our Objective has always been to provide Quality Value and Service. We started out fitting sports systems to fast sixes and V8s. Then as now Powatone provided the first essential step in performance; fitting a free flow exhaust system behind a set of extractors ("headers") that scavenge the gases allowing the engine to "breathe" more efficiently.

Headers are still the focus of Powatone's range. Pacemakers although not the cheapest are preferred and recommended, having mandrel bent construction with superior research and development applied by the manufacturer. Precision sports systems are hand engineered on the premises by people like our man "Raf" who has been a member of the "team" for over 15 years.

The competent crew all use specialised equipment to precision engineer a wide range of exhaust and turbo systems. Mandrel systems are made in the workshop by appointment or ordered for vehicles like 200Sx Nissan or XR6 and XR8 Ford. Standard parts to suit most vehicles are held in stock. If not they can be supplied overnight

All standard fit mufflers carry a two year warranty unless fitted to extreme or modified vehicles such as rotary engines which generate abnormal heat and pressure. Sports and universal mufflers carry a one year guarantee.

An extensive range of sports systems is available on demand. Polished stainless is preferred by Summernats Champion Peter Fitzpatrick on his FC. Price on application here - not for the faint hearted - quality assured.

Powatones' modern workshop comprises a four bay set up resulting in a fast reliable service. All bays are equipped with 4 post Bishamon hoists, and fitters have access to Blue boy pipe benders, Mig and Tig welders. Outside lurks "Big Jim" (a special hoist) lifting vehicles up to 5 tons. Our storeroom up the back holds a wide range of stock and is located next to our "truck bay".

Our reception is adorned with photos of past heroes (cars of course).
Our friendly customer staff reside here and will answer all queries.

Catalytic Converters are fitted to cars made after 1985. Converters are part of the clean air revolution and legislation states that they cannot be removed. Late model cars will not function effectively without them. The engine management system ties into the O2 sensor and catalytic converter. We stock a wide range and can provide "cats " with increased flow.
